In the wake of the attacks on Manchester and London 2017

5th June 2017

Dear Parents, Carers,
Welcome back to the final half term of this academic year.
I just wanted to inform you that during our whole school assembly this morning, we had some reflection time over the recent events in Manchester, London Bridge and sadly in the locality. We didn’t mention details but did talk about how tragic the events were and how devastating it will have been for many people.
We reminded ourselves how important our family and friends are. We also talked about each element of our strapline – “Live, learn, laugh - love Lyndhurst”.
I wanted to inform you as some children may come home and ask questions but I felt, as the rest of the staff did, that it was important to start the day off with this reflection. There has to be a balance between shielding our children and making them aware to a certain degree. This is something Lyndhurst is very good at. Please rest assured the reflection time was done in a sensitive and caring way.
If you have any questions, please see Ms Nowakowska.
Kind regards,
Jola Nowakowska
