We had a good meeting just before breaking up for half term. Please see below for what happened, with CALLS FOR ACTION IN BOLD! - and do let me know if you have comments on anything.
1. Mr Hammill's application for PTA funds to help create a vegetable garden
We had seven parents present at the meeting, and all agreed this was an excellent use of £250 of funds. Thank you all who emailed to say you liked this idea. As a result, this application was approved.
2. Summer Fair
With a month to go until the Summer Fair, we discussed ways to get more raffle and tombola prizes. Yota agreed she would call in at retailers and restaurants local to her to ask if they would donate a prize. Meanwhile Charlotte, Emma Fung, Alice Pattenden and Zsuzsanna Posta are contacting previous donors, with some success.
We are also on the lookout for more parents/children/other musicians who are willing to perform at the fair. As it will be a music festival theme, this is essential! PLEASE GET IN TOUCH IF YOU OR ANYONE YOU KNOW COULD HELP!
There will be another bake sale soon, organised by Kate Duchene (class rep).
3. Easyfundraising scheme
We discussed what a great start we've had with this. It's so easy (hence the name…) - please make sure you sign up to it so that you can help raise money for our school whenever you shop online with associated retailers. Big names like Amazon and Sainsbury's are on there so if you buy from them frequently you could really be helping. You can also get friends and family to sign up. Click on the link below to get going.
IF ANYONE IS IN CHARGE OF ORGANISING TRAVEL OR ORDERING STATIONERY FOR THEIR COMPANY, PLEASE HAVE A LOOK AT THE STATIONERY/TRAVEL COMPANIES THAT ARE LISTED UNDER EASYFUNDRAISING.ORG.UK. YOU COULD HELP RAISE A SMALL FORTUNE FOR OUR SCHOOL IF YOU ORDER FROM THOSE RETAILERS!
4. School tea towels
Rachel Carey-Thomas has been exploring the possibility of getting tea towels printed with pictures drawn by our pupils, which can be sold in aid of the school. We agreed that we would have a trial run with Years 5 and 6, and then review once we see how popular they are.
As ever - any thoughts about any of the above or anything else you want to raise, please email me!
