Yr 6's Music & Stories for WW1

Across the globe events are taking place to mark the monumental end of World War 1 and on Wednesday, 7th November, Lyndhurst's Year 6s took part in the 'Music & Stories for a past century' event at St Giles' Church, in Camberwell - to a packed church.

Lyndhurst's music teacher Mr Valentine brought the evening together wearing his hat for the school and Camberwell Community Choir, who were also singing. They were joined by the 23rd Camberwell Scout Group in this informal concert, recalling history from our local community, which included accounts of the zeppelin airship raid on Camberwell, stories of the Camberwell Palace of Varieties and the histories of some of the young men from Dulwich Hamlet FC, who lost their lives in The Great War.

Lest we forget.

We want to thank St Giles for giving us the opportunity to become part of this wonderfully poignant, celebratory and revelatory evening.

We look forward to returning to St Giles in December for our annual Winter Concert, on the evening of the 12th December.
