We have a long-standing musical background at Lyndhurst Primary School, thanks to our vibrant Music Department, which unifies the whole school in a number of events taking place over the Summer Term.
Some of these are only possible thanks to the positive relationship we have with friends within the Borough and further afield...
One inspirational opportunity included the Splash Show at the Royal Festival Hall, which Year 5 recently took part in.
The Southwark Music Service were instrumental in incorporating Lyndhurst's children to take part in the show. If you haven't yet had the chance to see their children perform How High The Moon, please don't fret! You can watch a video of the show right now, just click here.
This year's Playground Proms took place on Wednesday, 12th July and has gone from strength-to-strength over the past five years, with every child and member of staff in the school being given the chance to join together in a throng of song and dance, while family and friends picnic the evening away on the MUGA. We will shortly upload a gallery of images from the event, which you can revisit at your leisure, over the lazy Summer break.
Another exciting musical venture took place this term, when the children in Year 6 were given the chance to perform their show, 'Shakespeare Rocks!', once more before the end of the school year.
Thanks to Mr Hammill's relationship with the Bromley Little Theatre, they trod the boards on a real stage, with lighting and sound, in front of a small audience. This electric group of budding thespians behaved like true professionals revising their roles while Mr Speer filmed the production. (Don't miss the show photos which are now on view, and purchase, outside the School Office.)
