Footie: Minor defeat but winners all

Our phenomenal Key Stage 2 Lyndhurst Football Team suffered their first defeat of the season this Saturday, 28th November, when they came up against Crawford Primary School at Rosendale Playing Fields

Despite this minor disappointment, however, all was not lost! The game got off to a cracking start as Lyndhurst's Kymi hit the ball into the back of the net, scoring the first goal of the match within ten minutes of kick-off. It wasn't long before Crawford equalised but, before the whistle blew for half time, our team had set up an amazing second goal, which was Matthew hit into the back of the net with some serious skill.

Lyndhurst knew their opponents were not going to give up easily and the second half of the match was nail-biting, especially for those of us on the sidelines. By the time the final whistle blew Lyndhurst had to admit a 3:2 defeat to Crawford, but it could only have been a better match if we'd actually won!

'Left Back' Louis was up-front with his tactics and was named 'Man of the Match' for his superb skills.

The good news is, the team has now scored a stunning 22 goals in four matches this season.

The next match is just around the corner... We'll let you know when and where. Don't miss the next chapter in their exciting Football adventure!

Fixtures recap:

Our dream team won its first three matches in a row. The third was against the formidable St Joseph's Primary School.

When the final whistle blew, on a mud-sodden pitch at Rosendale Playing Fields on Saturday, 14th November, the squad had amassed an amazing 3:0 victory.

Wilkie kicked in the first goal, while the second was an unfortunate own goal for St Joseph's, and finally Matthew booted in a cracking goal to complete the trio.

The rain teemed down but it did nothing to dampen our team's spirit, despite St Joseph's challenges. Goal Keeper Molly had her work cut out and was heralded 'Player of the Match' for saving some superb attempts by the opposition.

This was a 'Cup Match', so it was a pretty exciting event - for all!

We will also let you know when the match that was due to take place on Saturday, 7th November at Dulwich Sports Ground, will be rescheduled.
