Dear Parents and Carers,
The first Friends of Lyndhurst (FoL) meeting of the new school year will be next week on Friday 6th October, at 9am in the school dining hall. This will be a Welcome to Friends of Lyndhurst meeting and an AGM all rolled into one.
Please do come along to say hello, meet us and hear about and contribute to our plans for the year ahead. All welcome.
Class Reps: Would you like be a class rep for your child’s class? Reps are responsible for collating contact details for parents in your child’s class to help facilitate communications from us and between yourselves (and we hope to be launching Classlist this year to help with this!), possibly organise a couple of social activities during the year for your class/year (eg: class picnics, evening drinks for parents, help with child care on school closure days, etc), and oversee the fair tasks allocated to your class for the school fairs. It would be great to have at least 2 reps per class, so if you are interested please drop us an email on Lyndhurst.firstname.lastname@example.org or pop along to our meeting next Friday.
Lyndhurst Dad’s Pub Crawl: A pub crawl for Lyndhurst dads has been organised on Saturday 14th October in Waterloo. Meet at 19.30 at the Windmill on The Cut. All are welcome. If you would like to be added to the dads whatsapp group for occasional pub get togethers drop Adam a text on 07715 103615.
Xmas Cards for Schools scheme: Last year we joined this scheme to give pupils the opportunity to design Christmas and Holiday cards, calendars and mugs whilst raising money for the school. It was a great success with pupils and parents alike and raised over £300 and so, by popular request, we are running it again! Your child’s teachers will be handing out art sheets & order forms over the next couple of weeks and artwork and order forms should be handed in after half term during the week of November 30th. Look out for more information soon!
Winter Fair organising committee: Preparations will soon be underway! If you would like to be involved in the organising please drop us an email as we’ll be holding the first planning meeting very soon . There are ways you can get involved big and small, so no matter how little time you can give if you can offer some help please do get in touch as we can always find a task that fits with you. Attendance at meetings is not essential as there are lots of computer/email/phone based tasks that can be done from home!
Additionally, if you have any ideas and suggestions as the planning gets underway, whether or not you want to be actively involved, please do drop us an email at Lyndhurst.email@example.com as we’d love to hear from you now so we can incorporate your ideas from the get go!
Thanks for reading and hope to see you at the AGM on Friday at 9am!
