Who'd have thought such a display of energy and skill could be found on a soggy Saturday in Dulwich in early November? Well, that's just what the fans witnessed as Lyndhurst's eager Year 5/6 team walked out on to Rosendale Playing Fields on Armistice Day.
The team, who were playing Oliver Goldsmith's Primary School, took just five minutes to get ahead when Matthew's blinding first goal hit the back of the net, followed shortly by a great second goal from Pele.
Don't think for a second that Oliver Goldsmith's were easy opponents; they kept everyone on their toes scoring a serious counter-attack goal at the beginning of the second half.
The fans on the sidelines had their own warm-up cheering Lyndhurst on. The team's third goal, scored by Matthew in the second half, almost went unnoticed it was so effortless.
Ikenna had the thrill of the morning when he seized a great opportunity and tipped the ball in with style to round off a great game.
Milo, who is Team Captain, walked away very happy after receiving Man of the Match for his control of the game from his Centre Back position.
Come out in support next time we have a match; this squad shows real promise and they are coming together as a team to be reckoned with. Watch this space for more information.
